Notice of Funding Availability/Request for Applications CDBG Funds

The City of Kissimmee is expected to receive approximately $896,880 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Of that $134,532 have been allocated towards Public Services activities. The purpose of the CDBG Program is the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for persons of low/moderate income.

Even though the CDBG regulations allow the use of grant funds for a wide range of public service activities; the City will be giving priority this year to:

  1. job/employment training/job readiness placement;
  2. housing information and referrals/homeless outreach and case management;
  3. after school services/mentorship programs/child care;
  4. financial and housing counseling; and
  5. subsistence payments.

Applications will be available Monday through Fridays at City Hall, 101 Church Street, Kissimmee, FL 34741 (second floor) or by emailing frances.dejesus@kissimmee.gov starting on Thursday, August 8th through Wednesday, August 28th , 2024. Applications are due on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
