Public Education & Community Risk Reduction

The City of Kissimmee Fire Department is dedicated to engaging with our community to bring vital educational opportunities to kids and adults that can help save lives. We do that by attending events, hosting educational events, and sharing safety information with our community online and in person.

Reducing Risks in our Community

The Department has completed a community risk assessment and continues to evaluate and prioritize the risks in our community. An effective Community Risk Reduction (CRR) program can reduce risks.

The five E’s of CRR are:

  • Education: safety talks, social media (this page will primarily focus on Education)
  • Engineering: fire sprinklers, airbags
  • Enforcement: inspection programs, strengthening laws
  • Economic Incentives: free smoke alarms, tax incentives
  • Emergency Response: adequate emergency services
